A piece inspired by tiles encountered during a journey through Argentina. Crafted using fluffy white yarn, the overall finish lends a softness and sense of cleanliness. The patterned tiles glimpsed in San Telmo seemed less like deliberately placed decorations and more as though they had been there forever ? tucked into wall corners, beside staircases, or along the roadside. They appeared scarcely maintained, unlikely ever to be replaced. The patterns themselves appeared symmetrical at first glance, yet upon closer inspection, they were not perfectly formed. Slightly faded by the sun, they exuded an air of effortless charm. That afternoon, weary from walking, I sat by the roadside eating ice cream. The floral tiles on the adjacent wall were a little worn, but their colour scheme was endearing. Though never quite 'absolutely lovely', they somehow linger in the memory.
